Point Traverse
Albert Shin 2009 | Feature
This film is a great effort by Director Albert Shin. The movie has three main characters that all deal with loneliness in different ways. The lead character, while seeming to be the most sensible of all the characters has an odd personality quirk and a very shocking way to deal with his loneliness and rejection. The eurasian actress plays a very believable character, though her character would have benefited from some additional development. While the movie was made up of quirky characters (though very much in touch with many of the quirks that we see in real life) is delivered in a no-nonsense way with no obvious plot flaws. Having the director and actors participate in a Q/A after the movie added significantly to the experience. I think we can expect many more great movies coming from Albert Shin in the future. Good job done!!!

City Island
Raymond De Felitta 2009 | Feature
This was a very good movie, though a bit predictable. It was well written and produced. All of the actors put in great performances. Julianna Margulies put in an especially good performance. This film was a lot of fun to watch. All of the characters in the family had a secret, except for the wife. Well, it wasn't obvious to me whether or not she had a secret. This film is definitely worth seeing.

Limbo Lounge
Tom Pankratz 2010 | Feature
This film is amazing. The film is a bit of Twilight Zone meets David Lynch and it works perfectly. This festival has had some great films so far and I am disappointed that I can't rate this film a 6 out of 5. The actors were great! The women in this film are beautiful! The script is well written, cohesive, and provides good continuity and flow thoughout the film. I watched every second of this film and was surprised how well the story was told. While I expected there would be a double dupe somewhere in the plot, it was fun watching along with the film to find out where it was. In the end there was more than a simple double dupe. This film is much better than most of the independent films that I see at Landmark, United Artists, and Sundance Theatres. I can't recommend this film enough! Kudos to the cast and crew and especially Tom Pankratz. You all did a great job and I would love to see this film again, and hope I get a chance to. Thanks for a great bit of true entertainment!
